Samir Laghouati-Rashwan - The Neon Colony Bar, ep. 1 & 2
As part of the exhibition Sur pierres brûlantes (28 August - 25 October 2020), Samir Laghouati-Rashwan (1992, FR) makes and presents on Instagram two videos entitled The Neon Colony Bar, which he sees as an experiment rather than as a finished work. Using irony with ease and precision, he exposes the ordinary racism that lies behind our naivety and reveals the thinly disguised fantasies that are attached to bodies, plants and drinks in the (post)colonial era.
