Commun.e - Vir Andrés Hera
Part 1 : The artists who creates within-circles
Vir Andrés Hera arrived in France to study Arabic, after which he graduated from Mo.Co, Fines arts school, Montpellier. He is currently carrying out a PhD at Quebec University, Montreal and Fresnoy Studio, Tourcoing. Titled Heteroglossies, it studies coexistence, cannibalism and power relations between languages within mythological histories.
His artworks are films in which he explores images and representations conveyed by languages, their hybridations, their realities and their mythes.
He continues this work by joining, in 2019, Qalqalah قلقلة, a curatorial and editorial platform dedicated to production, translation and circulation of artistic, theoretical and literary researches in three languages: French, English and Arabic.
For Commun.e, Vir Andrés Hera presents his practice and connects his works to the missions he has within Qalqalah قلقلة.
